Studio Operations Manager

Position Overview:

The Studio Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of One Love Community Fridge’s Studio space and backyard. This includes supporting community programming, managing event logistics, keeping the studio organized and welcoming, and coordinating with partners. In addition, the Studio Manager supports key food justice efforts, including fridge surveys, donation pickups, fridge stocking, and coordination of the summer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Operations & Logistics:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the studio space and backyard, ensuring it is clean, safe, and well-maintained.

  • Oversee the intake, sorting, and storage of food donations, coordinating with food purveyors, farms, and volunteers to distribute to community fridges.

  • Coordinate, support and manage the schedule for all studio activities, including volunteer shifts, food packing sessions, and community events.

  • Manage the procurement of supplies and tools needed for studio operations.

Volunteer and Community Management:

  • Welcome and support volunteers, community members, and partner organizations in the studio. Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and community members using the studio space. Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful environment at all times.

  • Recruit, help train, and manage a team of dedicated volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

  • Lead and supervise volunteer shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, local organizations, and individual supporters.

Fridge & Food Access Operations:

  • Ensure food safety guidelines are followed and fridges are clean and orderly.

  • Conduct regular check-ins at One Love Community Fridge locations.

  • Contribute to the organization's mission by providing administrative support and assisting with ad-hoc tasks as needed.

CSA Coordination

  • Assist in the coordination, packing and distribution of summer CSA shares. This includes communicating with partner farms, vendors, and CSA participants and coordinating volunteers to help pack and distribute the CSA shares with our partners and our community fridges. 

Communication & Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of studio operations, including volunteer hours, inventory, and event attendance.

  • Manage communication with volunteers and partners via email and other platforms.

  • Assist with budget tracking and financial reporting related to studio expenses.

  • Document studio activities and success stories for use in grant proposals, social media, and other communications.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for One Love Community Fridge's mission to fight food insecurity and a commitment to health, dignity, and respect for all.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail preferably within a non-profit, community-based environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including volunteers, partners, and community members.

  • Experience with community events, food access work, or volunteer coordination.

  • Resourceful, proactive, and capable of working independently.

  • Ability to lift and move deliveries and food donations (with support if needed).

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between fridge and CSA sites.

  • Ability to work some evenings or weekends for events or donation pickups.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Preferred Skills (but not required):

  • Knowledge of food safety, inventory, handling procedures and CSA programs. 

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.

  • Experience in event planning or workshop facilitation.

  • Ability to drive with a legal driver’s license.
